Urgent Care :: Turtle Shell help ?

hi i have a turtle and i want to know whats on its shell. it is like a white powder looking thing. its not fungus or algae and im not sure what it is. its just looks like baby powder a little but when he goes in water it gets a brownishwet form to it. anyone can help me to figure out what it is that would really help because im worried and i dont know what it is thank you

A picture is worth 1000 words - especially when the subject is turtle shells. Is it all over or just in spots? How long has it been there? Does it seem to be getting worse? Has your turtle shed scutes recently?

The very best thing though is to provide a photo. Take it when the shell is dry and make it as clear as possible.
