Urgent Care :: Shell problem - URGENT, PLS HELP

BUMP.

First id like to say I hope your turtle is doing better kolecuko!!! Secondly my turtles have markings similar to the 4 symmetrical ones on the top middle portion of the shell. Ive read through the thread but have been unable to determine what the cause of these markings were. Was it shell rot or simply the turtle scraping his shell?

I don't think it was determined for sure what caused the injuries on the shell but premature removal of scutes seems to be the most likely cause.

On the food, I don't know anything about the pellets, but the stuff on the left looks like nothing but mealworms. Mealworms aren't very good for turtles. Better would be gut-loaded freeze dried crickets (crickets that have been fed meals of calcium) for an occasional treat. You could feed the mealworms to birds if you have any around.

On the condition of the shell, it looks to me like the scutes are getting ready to shed, which would be a good thing. The unevenness looks like lifting around the edges. When your turtle has been in the water for awhile, can you press gently and see a little water ooze out from under a scute?
