Hello. I have two RES turtles, when i found them they were both the same size, now the once smaller one has had a growth spurt and doubled in size very quickly.

My concern is that there is a red tint of residue at the bottom of the tank, and it just started showing up. I am concerned that it may be blood? But then again it is a lot. And the turtles don't seem to be hurt. It smells terrible though. Does anyone have this problem? I am just hoping its not some sort of bacteria growing.

Thanks for everyones help!

Hi, can you post answers to the questions in this post: http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2142

I don't think blood would just accumulate, it's likely bacterial or algae growth.

Any chance of posting a pic of the bottom of the tank?
