I'm not sure if it's a sign of pyramiding or not but the first three plates in Pokeylopes central shield are starting to grow in a shape that looks like small dorsal fins.

How big is your turtle? 1.5 inches
How long have you had it? since augest of 2008

What is the water temperature? 25c 77f
Did you use a thermometer? yes
Are you using a water heater? yes
How much water is in there? approx 10-12 gallons
Are you using a water conditioner? yes
Are you using any filtration? yes

What is the basking temperature? not sure but i'm using a 50w tight beam Sun Glo lamp

Is there a basking light? yes
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? typical foam dock
Is there a UVB light? yes

What have you been trying to feed it? Reptomin turtle pellets(broken into smaller pellets)
When was the last time your turtle ate? this morning

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 20 gallon
Is the tank near a window? no
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? no

Have you read the Basic Care section? yes
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? yes

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? no

im not sure if it's just his shell growing and shedding oddly or if this is a sign of pyramiding, it doesn't look like it though. I'll try to get pictures of it for you.

I think that's pretty normal for young RES. Mine has those too. The shell will
smooth out as the RES gets older. Nothing to worry about for now :)
