Ok so I've seen them both eating so I think everything is ok with the eating problem.

2 turtles (hatchlings)
1 son (11 months)
1 boyfriend (also a hatchling)

This is gross but I have raised sickly hatchlings that did really well with this (one even came back from the brink of death)
get a feeder guppy, catch it in a net and place it in a big cup or bowl of very warm (not boiling- like spa temperature) water to kill it quickly. Cut the fish (a serrated knife works well) into tiny-turtle bite sized pieces and offer the chunks to the turtle. I have used a little toothpick to hold the offering up to the turtle's face if it doesn't seem too offended by this.
In my experience, they cannot resist chunks of freshly killed fish and it may get them to eat other stuff as well.
