I'm the new owner of 2 1- 1 1/2" RES. I've had them since Saturday. Their water temp isat 80 and their basking temp fluctuates between 88 and 90. The water is treated with conditioner and filtered.

Taser is the most active, eating, swimming, basking, etc. Bullet is the one I am concerned about. Bullet basks alot and when he swims he lilts to one side. I haven't observed any open mouth breathing in or out of the water. He/She eats but no where near as well as Taser. Today I noticed that Bullet's shell looks like it has areas that are raised up.

At first I thought that Bullet was just stressed but now I'm thinking that it could be RI. Not sure about the shell though? I'm starting to think that its time to take Bullet to the vet.

Should I take Taser too even though he/she isn't showing any symptoms? Any advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I would separate them, just in case there is something contagious. It could be RI but it's not an easy thing to diagnose. Does he always swim to the same side? Can you post a pic of the shell?

Pics would be good. If you take the one to the vet and it is an RI, make sure the vet knows that your other turtle was exposed to this one, the vet might want both to get any medicine prescribed.
