So I look over at Ivan’s tank and see her with her mouth wide open. It looked as if she was chocking on something but I have nothing in her tank except river rocks. So she continues to do this for a time and then yaks up a ball of gross lettuce looking stuff. Which I think that I feed her about two days ago.( I don’t recall feeding her today). Also when I was looking for my net to scoop it out she went and ate it. I'm not sure what this means?? Did she just have an upset tummy or is there some sort of serious problem?? :? She seems fine now though and has never done somthing like this before that I know of.

Usually when a turtle throws up, it's the result of overfeeding. It could be some other complication, but hopefully the former.

Perhaps a ball of fiberous matter from the lettuce was stuck in her throat. If so, now that it's out hopefully she'll be ok. Just keep an eye on her and if she does anything else odd, consider seeking a vet's assistance.

She may be one that enjoys her food a little too much and gulps it too fast. You should probably be extra careful not to give her big chunks of things (carrots, shrimp, etc) that she could choke on.

Okay, you guys are probably right and she seems completely fine and even got up to bask last night. So thanks for the reassurance, it just looked so horrifying when she did it and I scare easily when it comes to any of my animals. I'll keep an eye on her!!
