i just got 3 new baby res and one of them now has respratory infection it dosent look that bad but i want to get him treated asap. i live in andover new jersey please help

Talk to the vet about payment options. Many vets will set up a payment plan. Otherwise, try to charge it to your credit card and pay it off over time. For the time being, bump up your water temps to 80 degrees and you should isolate the sick turtle into its own tank so the others don't catch the infection. Ultimately, you must seek a vet!

Unfortunately RI doesn't just "go away on it's own." It needs antibiotics which you can only get from a vet. And chances are, if one is sick, the others may already be infected also. The bad thing about the baby RESs is that they often aren't cared for properly before you get them.

Is there any way you can call the store where you got them to ask if they can help provide some vet coverage for them? I know some pet stores have a guarantee that if they sold you a sick animal, they will help with getting the animal well again. In your case, I would treat ALL 3 babies regardless of whether or not they are showing symptoms or not.

I know it is too late now because you already have 3, but honestly 1 RES baby is enough because once they grow bigger (which doesn't take long), you will need a much bigger tank, bigger filter, bigger water heater, etc. Turtles are expensive in the beginning, but once you take care of their initial needs, they are cheap after that.

You will find that 1 adult RES (which is the type of turt I have) can be a real handful.

In the meantime, separate the sick one from the others and give him his own set-up, with a water temp of 82F and a basking area temp in the low 90's.

How bad is he (what symptoms does he have)? Is he still eating?
