Urgent Care :: My RES rear end is floating!

I have 2 RES, not sure how old. One is fine, but the other seems like he can't keep his butt down for anything. He's happy, begs for food, and is acting otherwise completely normal, but when he tries to swim, his front end is going crazy, and his butt is way up in the air. When we take him out and set him back into the water, his front end goes down and his rear end bobs to the surface, and will not allow him to sink. He just started doing this a day or so ago. This past weekend we lost power for a couple of days and the tank temperature dropped down into the low 60's. Any ideas of what could be wrong with him?

Maybe he has gas? I mean, a serious air bubble in his intestines could cause floating? Give him some extra fibery things and see if he can pass it ...

Yes, he seems to be doing a little better today, and this morning it looked like he passed some gas, we saw bubbles come up from his back end. Hopefully this is all it is.

It could just be gas, or he may have parasites. If it doesnt go away in a couple of days, take him to the Vet.
