Urgent Care :: turtle lazy/not eating

one of my turtles is acting strangely, when i try to feed it a pellet it usually goes crazy just at the thought of food, but today when i tried to feed it, it just looked at it and swam away, and i notice its not diving or staying underwater for long periods of time, it just kind of hangs on to shallow platforms in my tank and stays put with his head out of the water, does anybody know what this could mean?

is it maybe because hes sleepy? because i do tend to stay up late, up till around 3-4am and i don tthink the turtles sleep untill i do either, and i wake up at around 11am, but the sun has come up and lit my room up well before then

First, check all of your temps, water temp and basking temp. Make sure your water temp is around 78 degrees and your basking temp around 90. Check your room temp, if it's much lower than 70, your other temps can be affected pretty badly.

Next, check you turtle. Any sort of behavior change is not usually good. How big is your turtle? How old? What's your set up like? Do you know if it's male or female? Check it's nose and mouth, are there bubbles or is it having trouble breathing? Are there any unusual spots or discolorations? If it's female, is she gravid?

You need to be more specific, but be quick, you may need to see a vet!

Additional information would be helpful; size of turtle, size of tank and gallons, lights, basking and water temps, etc

How long has he been acting this way? What do his eyes look like---do they appear swollen at all?
How warm is the water and basking area (check with a thermometer)?

You can stay up as late as you want to, however, if your turtles are in the same room with you, it would be good to darken the tank by covering the top and sides with something like a dark cloth, or even cardboard, so they can sleep.

yup my turtle is acting normally now, i think it was just because i was keeping them up late, well one of them anyways, but i make sure their tank is dark at a certain time now
