First off, this website is awesome. I would not
have been able to successfully get started with
my first pets ever, my 2 RoudyRES:

Tommy & Sincere

OMG I rescued these little guys from my GF's family. Her parents
got them for her little brother. When I came to their house, they were
in the bathroom in a rubbermaid container filled with water. :( The food
floating in the tub from the pet store were enormous, the window was
always open and it was February/March, so it was super cold. IT WAS
HORRIBLE, they hardly moved when I went to the bathroom and they
were shown no kind of attention. After about a month or so I began doing
research about RES. This website helped me confidently get the Turts out
of there ASAP, and make a comfortable transition into their new home.

Now that they are comfortable, their personalities are starting to show.
I named them after the characters of the movie Belly; who were like
brothers, but shared a completely different outlook about LIFE. This is true
about my RES. Tommy (who im sure is a male) is aggressive and takes
no Sh** from anyone and enjoys life from a static position. Sincere (who
I feel is a female) on the other hand avoids confrontation, and explores
life from all directions. Tommy and Sincere are both wonderfully active
RES, they're great companions and I'm glad I took 'em in to my home.

Greetings and welcome to the forum! Your turtles are adorable! I'm glad they survived their first risky month. It was good of you to take them.

Welcome!, Always nice to hear turtle storys! I was wondering if it was the lighting or the camera but on the last picture the shell of the left turtle seems to be brown or something. Just wondering!

Hi there! Pinky turtle looks just like our adopted turtles. Is one bigger than the other? Is there any bitting going on?

Yeah, Tommy is bigger than Sincere. Its funny, at first Tommy
was the timid one and even now when i take him out of the tank
to walk around he hides. But in the tank he does nibble a bit, but
its doesn't look to be out of aggression.

How long can you keep them out of the water in the enclosure?

No more than an hour, and I dont do it
often, maybe 2 or 3 times a month.
Sincere loves it.
