Hi all! I'm glad to have found this forum. I know I'm going to learn a lot of valuable info here. I've always had a menagerie of animals, but haven't owned a turtle for many years. My son (6 years old) and I just adopted "Bella" this past weekend. So far, so good!! Still trying to figure out how to post a pic. I followed the instructions for "post a pic" and it still won't work. Oh well! Nice to meet everyone :-)

Ahhh! A snake!! I must admit, I prefer the non-slithery reptiles! But hi David :-)

He he  ... Actually snakes are very clean and smooth and dry animals. I've always been fascinated by their ability to move so quickly without the use of legs! But I also have lizards, frogs, turtles, fish, a gecko, a cat, a dog and a newly acquired kitten that my son brought home from his work the other day. :)

I do think snakes are beautiful, and they are fascinating to touch - all smooth and warm. But they do give me the willies, I have to confess :-) More power to the snake-lovers, though! To each their own!

I adopted Bella from a local pet shop. I wanted to get one from a breeder or rescue, but they are all too far away from me, and the overnight shipping was crazy.

Thanks Turt! Bella has such a pretty shell, and her red "ears" are bright as little red cherries! She's just a pretty girl all around.
