Hi, new RES owner new to the forum!

My names Derek, I've had my RES for about 3 months now.
A friend of mine gave him to me, he had them outside in the summer, out in his pond/waterfall that he built.
One ran away and he gave the other to me because winter was coming and he said he was tired of changing the water all of the time.
I've done a lot of research on this site and others about RES care, and now I consider myself an enthusiast!
I love my turtle and hope he lives as long as these sites predict 50-75 years.
I have his setup as a 29 gallon glass aquarium, submersable heater, dual carbon filters, and a heat lamp using stacked rocks as a land mass.
