Hi Joe,
There are books at the pet shops and also the library, most of them are not that good. This site and group is probably your best choice.
I have my turtle for 16 years and still have questions.
keep their water clean and warm, don't over feed. Turtle if kept indoors don't get any natural sun light which they need, SO you need to use special type of light that mimic natural sun, full spectrum lights.
Home Depot has them most of the time.
Lots of question is the best way.

And just for some clarification, I don't think that full spectrum and UVB lighting are the same thing. Make sure that you are getting UVB with your lighting.
