Hey... how are you, I'm Azaria, from Costa Rica, I have to tell you here the RES are missunderstood, very cheap and mostly never survive to grow up and be an adult... most people here are ignorant about they care I include myself but I try to do my best, my girl .... I guess is a girl... has almost 6 years old... and right now... I will save some money to buy her a bigger tank... well...

Welcome Azaria!

Yeah RES are missunderstood here in the states as well, especially in FL they are very easy to find and cheap. The vendors here dont know anything about them, and they recommend them to alot of parents because they are "good pets for children" YEAH RIGHT! i wish they knew how important these animals are and how smart they are,i mean they will outlive the family dog...probably even you.

you should post some pictures!

Welcome to the forum. I would have to agree that they are misunderstood about everywhere. Even pet stores, which most people trust, rarely have their facts on RES straight.

We'd love to see some pics if you have them!
