i've got a turtle! i've got a turtle! weeeeeh!
i finally got a turtle! weeeh! if you read my other post, [frustrated turtle owner] you could just imagine how happy i felt when i saw a fresh delivery of little turtles when i visited our local petshop. i was literaly jumping around in the shop when i saw them. i think my friends wanted to abandon me in an instant. lol!
according to the guy at the petshop, it's a girl because of the more intricate markings on it's plastron. i haven't read about anything about sexing res through that. do you guys know anything about this? anyway, i hope he's right coz i really wanted a female turt. i've already named her peppermint i hope the guy didn't just make the plastron thing up.
anyway, she is such a joy to watch. the first time i put her in the tank [on her basking rock] she nose dove to the water and stayed in the bottom for like 3 minutes. when i turned my back, she was swimming around already [actually, more like hysterically flapping her arms
]. she loves going near the filter. i think it's the bubbles she likes so i'm thinking of getting her a bubble wall. right now, she's basking. she's been on her rock for quite some time now. i can tell that she's not very people shy unlike what i read from other posts. she doesn't seem to mind me watching her.
just a question, is it ok to feed her fish pellets? the ones for flowerhorn fish. i was too excited to take her home a while ago so i left the turt food i bought on the counter. so i called the shop and i'm coming back to get it tom. i was wondering if i could feed her the fish pellets just for tonight?
phew, sorry for the looong post. i guess you can tell ireally am so excited.
