hi. i'm a science teacher who just aquired a free red eared slider from my sister. apparantly mr t was being picked on by the other turtles in her tank, so i rescued him. i'm keeping him in my classroom for now, but i'll be taking him home this summer. i have lots of questions, which i'll post in the appropriate place. at the moment, i fear i may have bitten off more than i thought, but i'm smitten by that lil turtle face.

Welcome to the forum! Most people find out that have bitten off more than they can chew. They are very rewarding pets, so he'll be worth it!

Hi Susan - your little turtle will require some effort in the setup, nobody anticipates all their needs right off the bat, but once you get a good setup they are not much trouble at all. They are a lot of fun - I think our Spot has more personality than me, my husband, our dog or our cat.

Welcome Susan. I agree with both Missi and Spotsmama. They can be expensive and need alot of attention at the beginning when getting their set up just right but in the long run it is so worth it.
