Hello everyone!! The other day my girlfriend bought me baby turtles, and I am absolutly in love with them. I am soooo excited to get home after work and check out our little guys, Ricki Tick and Flash. We just purchased a glass tank and she did a great job at setting it up for them, now mind you neither of us have any expierence. We still have a lot to learn and I am really grateful for this site!! I am unable to get many answers to questions at the pet shop, so...THANKS to you all!!!

whats your set up like?

Thanks We got a 5.5 gallon (for now) a rock form for the babies to bask on and a lamp, a plastic plant and an air filter. They have swimming room and I love how they just seem to hang there just floating under water. Ricki tick just sticks out his leg under the light...its great!! We did get a heater, a Neptune 25w but I am reading about some great ones here, so I we will be looking into them. I will be taking pics soon

Since you are doing your reading, you are probably well aware that 5.5 gallons is already too small! I learned from my mistakes, thinking that I'd start small and upgrade along the way...and I wasted a lot of money. The larger that you can go now, the better. Saves on those costly upgrades.

Welcome! Continue your rreading that is great. I have learned a bunch on this forum as well as the basic care site. I learned about all the basics I needed, proper tank size, heater, thermometer, filter, basking area, level of water, proper nutrition....the whole works! Welcome aboard! Most pet shops are clueless....so my suggestions is to take everything they say in stride....and research it on your own!
