Hello,

Thanks for your site. I'm new here and new at having a RES. Got one just last week, my first one ever. Have no idea how to take care of it, but your site is helping me.

Any ideas on habitat or feeding or anything will be very apreciated.

I am concern about the temperature. Everywere I read about these lights to give the RES a high temp., since I live in a tropical island and the temp. is almost always around 85 and 100, do I need them?

Anyway, I'll keep reading your posts to se what I find.

Thanks again, and keep doing what you do, helping to take care of all our RES!

Welcome to the forum. :)

Depending on whether your turtles habitat is inside or outside and how old he is will depend on it's setup(need for basking heat etc). Just keep in mind that if it's inside the water temp should be no higher than 78 degrees for a hatchling and between 72-75 degrees for older turtles, the basking temp should be at least ten degrees higher. If you water temp is naturally higher than this you will want to find a way to cool it down to the correct temp.

If you have other questions, you can post them under the other sections of the forum. :)
