Hello! New to turtles.

Hiya everyone! I am super duper new to owning turtles or any form of aquatic animal. My cousin recently got a hold of a small itty bitty Red-eared slider he found on Craigslist. It was supposed to be a gift for his son. His son wasn't all that fond of a turtle so now he's giving the turtle away and I figured I'd take on the challenge. I've browsed through here a bit and read through all of the main site.
I have to admit, I still have A LOT of questions regarding care and will probably be a frequent user. Nonetheless I hope you guys have a good day and I hope to be a good turtle parent.
