My name is Tiffany and I have two res... Sam and Stacy. Sam is a boy (I think!) and Stacy is a girl. I'm a currently unemployed high school student but I'm trying my best to be the mother my turtles deserve.
When my younger sister developed an allergy to my dog my mother gave my dog away and bought me a turtle – Sam – to replace her. A year later I somehow convinced my mother that Sam was "lonely" (I know now that that wasn't true!). We went to PetCo and I picked out the smallest turtle being climbed on by everyone else. I named her Stacy. Ironically, she's the feisty one.
Up until a year or two ago, my mom was the caretaker of my turtles. I didn't really love them but I refused to give them away. I did a lot of research on turtles and I fell in love again. I started taking care of them myself and I drove my mom crazy about providing them with proper care. I upgraded the tank, the filter, and the basking space. I got the proper lighting and heat. Now I'm looking at canister filters... I'm almost sure I'll get an Eheim.
So here I am. It's been a long time coming but I'm determined to be the best turtle mom I can! I'm so excited to be around other people who care so much about turtles... my friends swear I'm nuts!

We ourselves have discovered how interesting and addicting these reptiles can be, and trust me what you put into them you will get out in return. We are just new on the journey of pet turtle ownership, but have many stories and experiences interacting with several species of wild turtles in our pond in our back yard in Florida. Those turtles were amazing and intelligent and they each had their own individual personalities. The more time you spend with your turtles the more impressed you will be I guarantee it. Would love to see some pictures of your Turtles.
