New turtle owner

A little baby slider came home from work with me one day about a month ago. I'm a landscape contractor- he stowed away in a truck full of sod I removed from a job to put in my yard. When I spotted him, I decided to keep the little bugger. He lived in a bucket outside until a few days ago when I got him a proper home. I felt bad leaving him in the bucket with nothing but a brick to bask on and four Mexican beach pebbles, so I spent the money I've been saving for a window AC on a nice setup for him.
I named him Captain Spaulding. If he turns out to be female, I'll consider a name change
I'm glad I found y'all. I'm a first timer, so I'll have plenty of questions!
