Hi everyone!!

My name is Dipti and I live in Hongkong. Two weeks back after a lot of fighting with my mom (I am 22 have a job, still need mom's permission to get a pet :|) I got my 2 cute angels. They are both RES named Tito and Hobi. Tito is 2.3 inches while Hobi is 1.4 inches. They are both few months old and I have loved them since I first set eyes on them. :)

Welcome to the forum! I really enjoy visiting Hong Kong, you shouldn't have a hard time finding supplies :)

Thank You, but language is a bit of issue. People who sell turtles do not speak in English much. So they told me absolutely nothing about how to take care of them :( . Which is why i need to read all the articles on it to understand them better :D This forum has already been a lot of help

Sellers are uninformed or just don't care but we'll do our best to make up for it.

Nice thing about HK is that you can get most aquarium supplies cheap. Bad thing is that most apts are the size of shoe boxes so space can be an issue :)

That's true!! The aquarium I got for my turtles have taken over half my room. And I so scared to switch on the aircon because the room is so tiny that the turtles will get super cold. So i live in this heat without aircon!!! :'( have you ever visited?? You seem to know so much about hongkong?

The water temperature is around 80-85 degrees (i have a water heater) but i am scared that while they are basking they may get cold. I have a heating lamp 60w and uvb light 25w. But since my room is small, the air con can affect them while basking

You're not using a basking light? The only air temperature you should monitor is the basking area. Keep the water temperature closer to 80F as well. If the room temperature is upper 70's or higher, unplug the heater.
