Hello I'm Paige!

I've had a RES for about 4 years now, since she was little about an inch big. Her name is Squirt! Over the years I've been told many different "proper" care techniques and now I'm trying to figure out the best way to take care of her. I've recently done a tank makeover and I'm interested in continuing to improve her living quarters! I gave her live fish for the first time yesterday which was quite gory, yet pretty awesome in the end! Any helpful tips or advice is welcome! She's about 7inches and I have a 40 gallon tank with a filter, dock, heat lamp, sun lamp, and a log. She seems to be a pretty happy camper with all of these changes, but I'm sure there is more I can do!

Welcome to the forum :D

If anything, I would suggest at least a 75 Gallon tank. Rule of thumb is 10 gallons per inch of shell.

What type of filter do you use?

1 Male Mississippi Map/Mississippi
1 Female RES/Slidy.
1 DBT White Concentric Female/ Lucky
1 DBT Male/ Spots
(Housed in the same tank)

300 gallon indoor stock tank, FX6 & FX5 filters. Mega-Ray 100w UVB bulb.
