Hiya all! I am looking into getting some pet turtles and am joining sites as appropriate. This one was one of the top google results with regards to different turtle-related things and so I thought joining here would be a good idea - and it looks as though it was!

Basically, right now I have decided that I will get 2 RES Turtles (1 Male & 1 Female), and then I would like to add the following animals to the tank/to a different tank to, if possible:

- Fiddler Crabs (x2)
- Angelfish (x6/7/8/9)
- Guppies (x7)
- Musk Turtles (x2).
- Maybe Maybe Maybe a tiny alligator that stays small - but not sure at all about this as I haven't researched it at all and don't want to unless it could be compatible.

So, while I am here, does anyone know if any of the above would be compatible with the RES's with; a) no risk of them being harmed or b) a low risk of them being harmed?

Thanks all,
~ Aidan.

with that many turtles and that many other tank companions you will eventually need like a 400 gallon tank ;-) just remember for aquatic turtles you need 10 gallons of water for every inch of turtle. Male RES get up to 8-10 inches and Females get up to 12 inches, that alone is about a 200 gallon tank for both turtles. Plus you are talking about musk turtles so now double it
1 male RES - Franklin
2 gold fish and 1 silver Fathead Minnow that started out as feeder fish & earned their right to live
3 Leopard Geckos - Gizmo, Snow and Boo

Welcome to the forum! Males will almost always have to be separated from other males or females. They become too aggressive as they mature. Females will do much better though some have aggressive tendencies too. I can't think of any alligator that would be a good fit in a community tank. The turtles will dominate it and occasionally eat whats in there.
