My Turtles Are Fighting...

I have 3 turtles. 2 red eared sliders & 1 painted turtle. The 2 red eared sliders have been together since they were born! I've had them for about 3-4 years now (they're 3-4 yrs old as well) Their names are Charlie & Johnny. They both have been putting their hands on the side of their heads.. & they've been fluttering them. I know that that's a sign of aggression, & aggression means too small of a space for them. They're I think about 4-5 inches big... & they were in a 29 gallon tank... Charlie started attacking Johnny recently, & now they're fighting a lot more now. I read online that fighting is because there's too small of a space. Charlie has bitten Johnny's skin on the top of his head... So my parents bought me a bigger tank. (55 gallon) Johnny is pretty much scared because we moved him & Charlie is continuing to attack him... The  space is much larger for them to rome..... I don't understand why Charlie's still attacking Johnny. Any answers?!

Welcome to the forum. Aggression is more a result of maturing males than space. While females can be equally aggressive, it does not happen as often. You'll have to either divide that tank, have separate tanks or rehome one of them.
