Hi! I'm a newbie too. I'm a thirteen year old but have done research like crazy for over a year now on painters and res. My parents don't help me take care of Jakey, my seven month old res, and i have no siblings. Feel free to ask me any questions u need :) the forums here r great. They r very reliable but I would suggest reading from other sources too to get the big picture

I think its great that at 13 you are taking the time to do research - quite a responsibility to handle with no help. Great Job!!!

Next best thing after that is your turtles themselves. Reading and seeing it first hand, going through your own experiences with your turtles give you that big picture.
