Wasabi and I say hello. I have hopped on this forum from time to time to read into things, but this is the first time I have a question concerning Wasabi's health so I thought I would create an account and ask away. I got him years ago as a baby (I didn't know about the rules regarding how large they had to be). Apparently not much news is made popular because I just found out tonight that they are illegal to keep in Florida. Which sucks. I got him when they were legal. I just keep loving him and what happens happens. I will share a photo eventually. So cute!

From what I understand, it is the sale of red eared sliders that is illegal in Florida, not owning them.
As of 2007, owners could keep their turtles, just not breed them.

Yes your fine to have the res. Its just illegal in the sale and breeding of them. You wont get in trouble in anyway.

Thanks for the welcomes. Yeah, I read into it a bit more and so long as I got her before 2007 and don't breed her or let her go swimming in the local lake, things will be just dandy. My room mates are a bit sad I can't get her a friend, but there's no way I could afford a bigger tank...
