Hey guys!

I join a few days ago but due to emergencies with my turtle, I've been posting in the urgent care section. However, now that he seems stable, I can take a few minutes to introduce myself and my turtle.

I am Canadian and have been a turtle owner a grand total of 4 -5 weeks! My turtle's name for the time being is Oliver; that might, of course, change once I know for sure it's gender. I am told he is 13 weeks old and he measures 1 1/2 inches. Unfortunately, he currently has RI (which is more thoroughly explained in the Urgent Care section). He is now stable and getting treated. It was a close call though.

Here is a link to some pictures. It has his normal set up and his cottage, which is the set up he has while he is recovering. I had to separate him from his fish friends...

Also, if you can let me know if the link works, that would be awesome since it is the first time I try it...

Thanks

The way it worked with my vet is I bought a full bottle of antibiotics and then either he could teach me how to inject or I pay an injection fee. Since he is so small I opted for the fee. So the initial visit was 140$ (67 for consult, 30 for antibiotics bottle and 30 for injection, plus tax). And I have to go back for 3 more injections @ 20$ + tax (since this time it a tech and not the vet doing the injection)....

total bill will be around 220$. But remember, I am in Canada so the fee might be different for you... It seems like a lot but it's worth it!

If it is anything like my experience, you could maybe opt for doing the injections yourself. My bill would have been 120$ cheaper had I done that. It depends on your comfort level... I hope everything turns out ok for you and your little guy...
