I was on here reading up on some stuff and figured I would say hi and introduce myself and my aquatic friend! I'm Matt first time turtle owner but I have owned lots of other reptile and crawly friends over the years just aquired a golf ball sized RES from a friend this month and named him (I know its too early to tell sex but I'm hopin!) Speedy due to his rocket like ability to disappear when the lid comes off the tank for cleaning! I will hopefully be able to take some pics of speedy and the tank set up before class tomorrow and will post but until then I'm signing off.

these are about as close to basking as Speedy gets

quick top view or the very basic set up

enjoying himself before a water change after I took everything out of the aquarium

the day I got speedy!

yeah he was eatting 2 days after I got him and yes I do have a basking light and I have it set on a 12 hour timer 8-8
