Hi all,

we need help - i got this for my 7 year old daughter last night and brought it home much to the chagrin of the lack of information i now realize they gave me. So in looking online at this site, etc i now realize this is going to be much more involved then what was told to me when i purchased it.

Can someone tell me the basic needs to get started on a very low budget?

about 1 inch! doesnt seem to be eating much....i'm hoping someone can donate an aquarium to me so i can move Lilly from the tupperware to a decent home!

Look into Sterlite and Rubbermaid containers for now... you should be able to find one in the 30-40 gallon range and use that temporarily. Just keep it filled about half-way, those are not meant to hold water.

I sympathize with you...some of these irresponsible (chain) petstores sell these turtles without giving out the full facts about care. And to a new owner, it can be overwhelming to find out just exactly what needs to be done.
That's how I got Miss Tee. (owners that could not give the proper care)
Just read, read, read this website, be prepared to spend a little--but the results are priceless!
