How did I not know this website existed?
I've got one RES, whom I love to bits.
"His" name is Trevor (though I refer to him as a him, technically Trevor is female...but we only discovered that after I'd already had him for 3 years, so it seemed silly to change his name and start calling him a her.) and Trevor is 17 years old. He'll be turning 18 on March 3, 2011.
I got him when he was 6 weeks old, he's been with me for a loooong time- if he could talk, he'd have some super juicy dirt on me! I'm going to try attaching some photos... This past May my husband and I finally had a custom aquarium made for Trevor, something I've been wanting for about 6 or 7 years, and Trevor couldn't be happier. He is certainly living the good life now!
I'm so glad to have found this website and the forums on it- I've spent pretty much my whole Sunday reading- such awesome info on here and so many nice people and gorgeous turtles! Living in Calgary where RES's are banned, I often feel I'm the only one... (I moved here with Trevor about 12 years ago, from BC) its nice to have other RES owners to consult with. Like I said, I can't believe I didn't find this website sooner!
