I'm Becky, mom to a 9-year-old male RES named Soup (yeah, say what ya want about the name, it was my answer to a friend's taunts when I first got him). I got Soup as a hatchling on Canal St. in Dec. '01 (first trip to NY after 9/11) and was surprised he was so active in the cold that I had to have him. Since his first PATH ride back to campus he's moved with me a lot over the years. He's now about 6" long and I've just upgraded his tank to a long, shallow 40 gal (perch, bamboo protected in the corner where he can't get to it, 2 in-tank filters, 2 timed lights). He eats mostly reptomin sticks, with occaisional treats of freeze-dried shrimp and live minnows.

lol i love the name, my girlfriend teases me about my turtle's name Gordon Freeman and nicknames him Seaman.

I'm also in jersey, central jersey near Rutgers campus. It seems like the RES business is booming for jersey :P.
