So yesterday I passed by the 99 cent store to pick up some index cards and I saw two little baby turtles in a small 4 inch tank. One of them looked dead and the other one was trying to move around and climb out. I never really thought about getting a turtle, but I felt so bad that I had to get him. Especially since he was only $2, I figured I could do a better job taking care of him than someone else who might have bought him. =X I know you're supposed to research about the animal first before you get him, but I couldn't help myself. So I brought him home and named him Turtlellini Alfredo. I think it's cute, but everyone makes fun of me for it. =/ And he's about an inch and a half big. Anyway, I immediately went to the pet store and got him a 10 gallon tank, which I'll probably have to upgrade very soon, a float for him to bask on, a water heater and a basking lamp, and some turtle food. I only got the things I found to be essential since I wasn't exactly sure what he needed. Either way, I'm glad I found this website because it seems to be very helpful and I hope to be making friends with lots of you pretty soon. =)

Welcome!! He's very lucky you rescued him. Just a tip though, in addition to a basking lamp, your turtle will also need a UVB light - it is essential for the production of Vitamin D.

Good luck with your little guy :)

Welcome! :) Nice work on going out and getting the essential things right off the bat and not just putting it in a tank with some water. :D And great name for your turtle! lol
