Hello ppl, this is my first turtle a baby res. I have been reading up since I have got my 3inch baby on 1/2/10 saved it from a throw away.Alot more maintenance then I would ever think but I have mostly every thing,just waiting for my filter to get here.The turtle (no name yet) seems to be doing well eating,crapping like crazy,sleeping ,basking.

Welcome to a super turtle site. Your "baby" is very lucky you save her (looks like a her). Aren't they poop machines?

Yes she is,it's crazy how small they are and poo poo so much,hopefully this filter helps on tuesday.

What size tank are you setting up, and what filter are you going with?

I'm sure you've read that when in doubt - go bigger, not smaller, and to plan for the future. I got my son his turtle about 9 months ago. That 4" turtle has grown to 5" already. Plan ahead for growth.

Cute little turtle BTW. Where I live, they don;t sell 'em under 4" so at 3" - yours is a baby to me.

I went with a 10 gallon for now,and a tetra in tank filter that came yesterday and a hydor theo heater which I like a lot but, I see that they will grow big fast but its so small now I really did not want to over due it just had to cover the basics since it was not planned, the people were gonna let the it loose so I just took it in.
