Posted: Wed May 13, 2009 3:29 pmNew to RES but an old hand at animals 6ound an RES on the road one day in the middle of nowhere, picked it up and took it home. I was worried it would get hit by a car. I have a 2200 gallon pond with some koi. The RES took to the pond like it was born for the water 
Then toward the beginning of winter poof no turtle. Looked everywhere. Just gone. Then toward the end of winter the guy next door found it in his yard. That was a couple of months ago. 6 weeks ago my wife found a baby then another. Then we found dead babys in the yard and the pond. I think the water was still to cold. I put the 2 turtles in a tank. All was fine then we find 5 more so the 40 gallon tank is no longer working out so well. Last weekend I started a new 125 gallon pond that for now will have a water heater and a foam board cover for the nights when it is still cool out. Anyway cool site, I have kept reptiles, reef fish, parrots,dogs, cats, well you get it almost any animal that will fit in a house
