I was a member of another forum and found some of their info misleading. I posted a link to a subject from this forum and was reprimanded for posting links and instead of allowing the info to stay to educate others it was deleted. I hope these forums are less hostile.. :(

Welcome to the site!
Sorry you've had a bad experience on other sites, this was the first turtle site I encountered when I got my first turtle, and I've adored it ever since.
Feel free to look around and post questions, and we certainly allow posting to other sites as there are other sites who have good info as well.

While I have only been a member for about a week not, I have noticed that many different ideas a accepted, advice and criticism is given gently and so far I have witnessed zero hostility...so you have come to the right place :)
