Hello all, I just received 2 RES turtles and decided i'd register here. One is a male, and 1 is a female. The tank is a little bare at the moment, so i'm going to Petco today to get some more supplies.

My interests include, Music, Computers, budgies, and now turtles!

Welcome to the site, be careful putting them in the same tank, or you'll end up with a bunch of babies on your hands.

Lol babies isn't a problem with two turts.. But aggression is.. Make sure they are not biting each other at all and if they do separate them. Welcome to the site!

Well, the man said indoor tank w/ a male and female would be alright, but something about if you put them outdoor....

I plan on having babies and getting more tanks
Today i'm about to leave for the petstore to get some accesories. is there a lot of human work in having the babies or do the turtles take care of them?

Hatchlings are incredibly fragile and require a lot of care. As far as I know, the parent turtles don't offer any care for the new ones. In fact, I think if they all had to live in the same tank, the parents would eventually start attacking the babies due to lack of space.

And of course, every baby (unless you're able to rehome some) will require their own setup.

Reptiles don't take care of their young, in fact they'll kill them if given the chance. Mothers lay eggs and never see the hatchlings, so they have no idea that they're attacking their own young.

Welcome to the site. How much money did you end up dropping at Petco? Do lots of reading here before you make any big investments, educate yourself so you don't have to repeat processes. Keeping turts although, expensive is a rewarding experience.
