Hello,
Just saying Hello!
I am a new turtle owner - - i saved my lill' guy from a neglectful sorority girl who got him in china town. Hes prob about 2 1/2 inches? maybe
He was really sick and his only habitat consisted of a bowl from the sorority house kitchen ,half an inch of water, and a lamp. When i transfered schools i stole him out of this girls room in the middle of the night and brought him home with me. After getting him the correct medicine and eye drops etc. he is growing and eating like never before! I am estimating that he is a year old or just under but the vet (not a reptile vet but a very informed man and the only one within 30 miles of where i live) said that his growth may have been slowed because of the terrible conditions he was in. His tank is now 10gal that will be upgraded when he is bigger to a 40 breeder, with a banana plant, rocks, floating dock, zooMed's 318 submersible filter, a submersible heater (keeping it at 80degrees until he has a clean bill of health),R-zilla hood that has a basking lamp and a UVA/B tube light, the occasional tiny guppy, and his new best friend BoB who is a little Plecostomus that he hasn't tried to eat yet. I feed him ReptoMin Baby, romaine lettuce, and squishy vitamin supplements to get him back on his feet (flippers?) -

ANY help would be great the last thing i want is to have spent all my time, money, and effort just to have this lill guy die :(
His name is SQUIRT and i love love love him!
:D

I dont think anyone is going to condone you stealing, but I dont think anyone on here is going to care because obviously you are providing a better home.

Welcome. I've been in your situation and have acted similarly. I'll bet your friend was relieved when he disappeared. Anyone who kept him in those conditions wouldn't have missed having him. Glad you're giving him a good home. :D
