Posted: Mon Feb 11, 2008 1:28 pm Hello Everyone
I am new to posting, but have been reading like a maniac for the last 10 days or so. We have a 7 year old RES named Fred. My son brought him home after a trip to Bahrain with friends. Given the fact that we did everything the pet store people said, I am amazed the poor guy lived a month let alone 7 years! We are now more educated, due to this site and forum, and couldn't be happier. We are the animal rescue home for our camp...at least it seems that way. Gardeners or Pest Control personnel have brought us two ring-necked dove babies so tiny they had no feathers at all, a white cheeked bul bul in the same featherless condition, two kittens (one of which was found trapped inside a wall in a vacant house), a puppy, a peach faced love bird, and two budgies (on two separate occasions, a budgie was found in its cage set by the rubbish bin). Thankfully, by luck and sheer stubbornness, all of the creatures have survived my inexpert care. Two hedge hogs have decided to grace our back garden with their presence and we own the meanest pleco on the face of the earth!!! We call our home the Zoo. I work at our vet's office as clerk and whatever else, but he only comes down here for four hours a month.
