Hi, my name is Marcie and I just bought two tiny turtles off of the side of the road. I ran out and bought a 20 gallon tank, a basking site, clamp lamp and filter. I have two lights a basking spot light and a coil light. I noticed that one gives off heat the other one does not.
Reading all of the entries I realize I will have to adjust the diets of my new babies.
I am a little overwhelmed by the care they require. The guy on the side of the road completely lied about everything.
He even told me that they had, had thier shots for salmonella. I am very emabarrassed  that I believed such a thing but did not take the time to educate myself before hand.
Anyway I am very excited that I found this site, it's great! I hope to learn everything I need to know to keep the little guys healthy and happy.
:D

Just make sure you read all the "stickies" and that should answer any questions you have. It sounds like you have done some research though. So good luck and if you need anything just ask.

Just so you know the stickies are the threads at the top of each section that look like a smushed bug with a "!" in the middle and say "Sticky".

Thanks flutterby *blush* you explained it much better. When I first started I didn't know what a sticky was. All the "stickies" have so much good information! I am so glad I found this site! The pet store sisn't even begin to tell me what I needed to know!

Good luck and welcome!
