Cat lady takes on more

Hi! My name is Holly, and I am new to turtles. I am a navy wife and mom of a 3 year old. My little girl wanted some turtles, but I was not going to get any until I saw them in the store. They are very little and were in a 20 gallon tank with 40 other turtles. the water looked awful, so we got 2 and I am learning about them. We also have two siamese cats. I have read everything I can about them and hope I can give them a better home than they had at the pet store.

Greetings and welcome to the forum! Turtles are a lot of fun - loaded with personality. Where children are concerned, they are a "look don't touch" type of pet. Your daughter will appreciate that because, as they grow, turtles can develop quite a bite, so best keep little fingers out of the tank.

Thank you guys for welcoming me. My cats are flame and seal, but they sure do have personality. The turtles seem to be full af attitude as well, and my daughter... well she is a princess. This forum seems great!
