Hello all. My name is Ritz. I'm a 17 year old freshman in college, and I finally got my dream: a turtle of my very own. I've had a fascination for turtles since I saw a Sea turtle (Superfamily Chelonioidea) in the Corpus Christi, Texas Aquarium. That was 6 years ago, and I finally have the resources and the space to have a turtle. She is 6.25 inches by 4.25 inches on the shell, and about 5 years old. She is most definitely a Red-Ear Slider, and very shy at the moment, I just got her today. We have her in a 20 gallon tank temporarily, until we find a 50 gallon tank. I'm brand new to taking care of a turtle, but I've helped take care of a 5 foot snake for 2 years, a baby ball python for about 6 months, and a 2 or 3 year old bearded dragon.
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated, I want my turtle to live longer than me!
