I'm Bobbey and I'm (well, the family and I) are new RES owners. Hubby and I were wandering a flea market about 3 weeks ago and he decided the baby turtles were too cute not to get some. LOL So now we have 2 hatchlings named Nemo and Dory. They're about 2" or so (6 mo?) - I haven't actually measured them but I suppose I should one of these days so I can better track their growth.
Nemo is light green with lots of yellow in his shell and is outgoing and friendly. He tends to take this 'tuff guy' stance when he thinks he's been offended by something.
Dory is dark green and skittish. She's only just now learning to not be quite so afraid of us but she's still more prone to run and hide if she sees us coming.
I must say that this site has been a huge help for us. I had no idea that turtles required so much care! It's been a chore getting them to eat - they still don't like their baby reptomin pellets but we soaked some in tuna water and let them dry and we'll feed them that tonight and see if they'll eat it better. No luck on veggies yet. Of course, I've only given them green leaf lettuce so maybe they just don't like that kind. LOL
I'm looking forward to getting to know ya'll better. It seems like one big family in here!
