Post Posted: Sun Oct 07, 2007 5:27 am   Hello everyone!

I just got a baby red-eared slider about 5 days ago. I named it Sgt. Pepper (I figure that's a good name no matter what the sex turns out to be) and he/she's about an inch and a half long. I joined because I want to make sure that Sgt has a good home and is well taken care of. The last time I had a RES was when I was about 7 or 8 and it was one my mom rescued. That turtle was about 4 or 5 inches long but after a while we realized we didn't have the space or money to devote to giving her a good home so she was given to a friend (she was being kept in a tank that was probably less than 10 gallons, I can't really remember, but it was not ideal as we didn't know anything about turtles). So anyway, I want to make sure that this time my turtle is as healthy and happy as can be!

Thanks! I've been trying to take pictures but my camera isn't the best and Sgt won't sit still long enough for me to get a good picture! He's too busy playing with his filter, haha.

I've greatly improved his setup and now its much easier to get pictures.

I've noticed quite a few people from Texas here, especially North Texas. Hooray for North Texas! Haha.
