This is Tokar- a Common Snapper ;) Doesn't she have such a beautiful smile!!!

These guys just recently joined my collection after their turt mom decided it wasn't safe for them, or for her 2yr old son for them to be in the house ;) lucky for me! heh heh
When you're a deadite skeleton, life isn't filled with a lot of options. So they make the best of it by playing dead – Which is why we like to introduce them to Mr. Shotgun, who doesn't give them the opportunity to pretend there anything but Chalk.

tokar will hopefuly by friday at the latest be moved into a 55 gallon tank which i am currently working on resealing.. so far the score in that one is

But i'm armed with 4 new bottles of silicone an determiation! so woot!
Right now though Tokar is only for the next lil bit residing in a 20 gallon Plastic tub, but is going to be upgraded to a 30 that i am desighning for her.

As for lil Squirtle, shes residing till shes bigger, in my 10 gallon with my baby softie JC who about the same size ;) they have proven to be good roomies, so perhaps in the future when both are large enough to graduate to a 55 gallon tank, they will be room mates there like my RES "Cooter" an my adult softie "nessie"


I wasn't expecting to get a snapper so soon as i have been working on getting stuff set up to actualy order a AST Hatchling an a Common Hatchling -_- hense my work on the 55 gallon tank but seems now i will only be getting the ast hatchling evently hopefuly by next month ;).

That's great! Where did you get the eastern painted from? He is so beautiful! And I have to ask, is it the pic or is there some gross, gooky junk in the snapper's mouth?

lol Tokar had just took the head off a large broad head minnow when i took that pic lol she an i were showing my bf just what it woulda took for her if her son had gotten to close.

I got the painted from my friend angel, shes the one who had tokar as well. An just decided it was to dangerous for her to have the turtles wih her son. Who would either got hurt or hurt them :S.

lol an don't i know it David! Thankfuly Tokars not to bad to handel, an angel used to pet/scratch her head, but i dun think i want my fingers that close to those strong jaws, so just shell scratches from me lol. She hates for her back legs to be tickeled to lol that gets her viciously mad an she'll chase you if you do that! lol

heres a few more pics of my painted turtle just so ya can realy see all her colors ;) She is so prety i just love her.

I also just finished Tokar's set up, least her temp one. Sooooo Heres the pics of it with her in it ;) I added a pfew peices of fern after i took the pics got a few more false plants i gota secure an then add later on just to make her feel more comfortable ;) she looks so little in the bigger tub!

hehe shes sooo prescious! I looked over a min ago an nearly jumped outa my chair, she was half under the rock an drift wood an had turned sideways an had that neck streached way out, with her nose barely breaching the water. She looked so prehistoric!!!!! i got it on video an tried to get some pictures before she receaded ;) i'll link n post to them once they are ready ;)
