:D Hi all! my name is Elga :lol: from Indonesia and i'm a newbie on turtle care. when I found this site I feel like i'm so blessed! this is more than i needed.. thank God. I saw a small baby RES sold inside a small plastic box at a fish exhibition on a mall. the price is not expensive so i bought them for my toddler son-coz he seemed crazy about it..lol
i know nothing about taking care of it so i searched the internet and found this site...omg! :( i was terrified coz i almost let it die in that 'death box' if i didn't look for more information..when i saw it in that box, there's just something not right about it,..so i commit myself to make a more humane care of it

as we know RES were imported here and it's a shame that very little information available of the basic cares. the pet sellers only tells you to feed them with pellets-the same ones u give to your fish- 3 times a day and change the water regularly. Totally NO information about the water depth or basking and all. they even sell it WITHOUT any water!! that's so sad... :cry: :cry: :cry:

I'm glad that you were able to find this site, it's wonderful and packed with great info and people :wink:

Make sure and read the Basic Care section. Everything is extremely helpful!

Hello! I'm glad you found this site so you can properly set up your new little turtle. Read through the nutrition and basic care sections on the main page-- they are very helpful. And don't be shy about asking any questions you have in the forum, a lot of times people have had the same concerns so if you do a search you can find topics on your questions already answered!
