, I decided to join this forum. Our family adopted a baby RES turtle 7 weeks ago, and I'm the one who takes care of it. I actually never liked reptiles, but this little turtle has changed that. My two boys, 7 and 5, wanted it, but I think I like it more than they do! It's name is Limu (Lee-Moo) and it comes from a Hawaiian story about a turtle with the same name. I keep referring to it as "it" because I have no idea if it's a boy or a girl because it is still too young. We bought him at 6 weeks old not knowing it was illegal for the vendors to be selling it. They had many though! Limu is doing well, and I hope it will continue this way as read and learn more about how to care for it.

The things that deter us from moving there are being too far from friends and family, the bugs, and not being able to find a suitable way to make a living.
