Oh wow Muffins is an adorable name, i love it! Glad that you found the site, it's super helpful, and i'm sure you'll find that everybody here is really nice. If you haven't already, check out the non-forum portion of the site (there are links at the very top of the page), it's well organized and has a lot of good stuff on it. I wish i had found it when i first aquired my turtle, it would have saved me a lot of money buying the all the crap that the pet stores assured me was good for my turtle. The most important bit of advice i can think of for a new turtle owner (besides doing lots of research) is :
Don't listen to pet stores!!! I'm not saying all pet stores are bad and don't know about turtles, but the vast majority of pet stores have really awful advice about turtle care. Most of the products "designed" specially for turtles, like turtle tanks and turtle filters, are no good and a big waste of money.
