Hi, I adopted 1 RES in 2007, her previous owner had named her Helga.. but my husband and i changed her name to Emmy! we had never owned a turtle before her but we just couldn't say no to that sweet face and allow her go to the SPCA, we consider her a rescue because our SPCA is awful and we shuttered at the thought of letter her be sent there if they didn't find a home for her, now we cant imagine not having her around!

Thanks! .. here are 3 pix of her and her set up, we just upgraded her to a 75 gal and bought her a turtle topper, we still need to get her some plants but she is loving all the room

Looks very nice! Are you using a XP filter? Do you have a heater? Some of the river rock look a bit small, I would remove the smaller ones.

All the river rocks are half dollar size or larger, anything thing smaller then that went into my plants, maybe some rocks look small do to photo angle? no heater yet, but her water temp has been holding steady at 75 degrees .. at the moment we are using a top fin power filter, it's been doing a great job of keeping her water nice and clean, very clear.

I am a new owner of 3 baby red ear turtles, hope I am doing everything to keep them to live a long healthy life :mrgreen:

Just thought I would add in here.. I have my 1st RES and sex has yet to be determined. So if its a boy he will be "Nemo", and if it's a girl "Dory". My 4 year old son picked out the names. And I loved that movie probably as much as my son. So there ya have it- Nemo/Dory.. lol I'll update once I find out.

Had him for 2 months and no name :shock:

But, this is coming from a guy named his cat "Kitty". So, meh!

She is a 6 month old eastern painted turtle :msgreen:
